Barthel. then sold it to my brother Leo Barthel - then sold it to his son Wallace Barthel. and at present time taken over by his son Gary Barthel"

Modified version: Olivia Chervenak (1909-2007), daughter of Nicolaus Barthel and Mary A. Dehen, relates that she was born 25 February 1909 on this farm in Frankfort Township, Wright, Minnesota. The farm was homesteaded by her great grandfather, Nick Burges (1810-1887). His daughter, Barbara Burges (1851-1920), married (1867) Olivia's grandfather, Mathias Barthel (1840-1899), who then sold it to her father, Nicolaus J. Barthel (1868-1927). Nicolaus sold it Olivia's brother, Leo J. Barthel (1901-1991). Leo sold it to his son, Wallace Peter Barthel (1925- ). Gary Allen Barthel (1952- ) took the farm over from his father, Wallace.
